Resourcefulness
Help can come from many places!
Narrative
All of us have many resources that are often overlooked or underutilized. Finding and exercising these can enhance one’s world and build confidence in problem solving.
Illustration discussions:
Is the boy asleep? Is his pillow soft?
What toy is he holding? Does he have any other toys in this room ?
What does Mom have on the tray? What is on Dad’s tray ?
Activities
Ask who, or what, might help us solve the next challenge
Review the options at hand and help with a decision process that can be timeless
Find any item and ask how it might be used as a tool… This could be as simple as a book used for a door stop or a coat hanger bent and used to retrieve something. The more kids can put unrelated items into play the more creative they get!
